FAQ's
Q: Will dampers alone lower my car?
A: No, lowering is only determined by the specification of the road spring. Dampers control the oscillations (bouncing) of the spring.
Q: Will lowering my car make the ride uncomfortable?
A: No, most springs are progressively wound. This means that the ride quality will be virtually as soft as normal in straight-line driving, but will stiffen up as the vehicle corners harder.
Q: Can I fit lowered suspension with larger diameter or wider wheels and tyres?
A: Lowering kits are designed to work with standard specification wheels and tyres and, as there are thousands of wheel and tyre combinations, it is impossible to give a definite answer. In general terms, 1 size up on a wheel/tyre combination is normally ok, though we cannot guarantee that non standard combinations will not need bodywork modifications.
Q: Why should I buy a Coilover kit and not just a lowering spring kit?
A: To replace your standard units when they are worn out, when you want to go for an extra low drop (generally over 40mm), or when you want to achieve the ultimate results in handling as well as appearance.
Q: Can I lower one end of my car only?
A: Very inadvisable. To lower one end of the car over the other can lead to dangerous handling imbalances. Major manufacturers only sell complete lowering kits.
